Designed as a secondary home in the heart of Copenhagen, this apartment was conceived as an urban retreat — a place to arrive for the weekend, unwind, and enjoy the city at a slower pace. Equally suited to quiet evenings at home or an evening out in the city, the apartment balances comfort with understated sophistication.
Located in a building dating back to 1879, the interior respects the apartment’s historic architecture while introducing a calm, contemporary expression. The client’s wish for a feminine atmosphere is interpreted through soft tonal colours, tactile materials, and gentle contrasts rather than decorative gestures.
Bespoke rugs and furniture are combined with contemporary designs, carefully selected vintage pieces, and art, creating an interior that feels layered, collected, and effortlessly balanced. Materials were chosen not only for their individual character, but for the way they relate to one another. The marble was selected for its subtle colour palette and distinctive veining, allowing its tones to resonate throughout the apartment, connecting the bespoke rugs, upholstery, and curtains into a harmonious whole.
Designed by Hangar 5, the kitchen follows the same restrained approach to materiality and craftsmanship, becoming an integrated part of the overall interior rather than a separate element.
