Info
From 1900's south/west India. Terracotta mean "cooked earth"They are made by hand through a coiling technique and afterwards baked in large pits. The use for these jars is for storage of long lasting food items such as grains and rice. The shape is such that it protects the contents against mice and rats. Often part of it was buried into the ground to keep it cool.
