  • CHAMPAGNE BUCKET Cast in solid aluminium – the metal used for many of its forebears – the Champagne Bucket was conceived as an evolution of and an alternative to traditional vessels. Use it for chilling your favourite wines, or to display sizeable flowers. The design’s satisfying mass and asymmetry are the result of extensive exploration of abstract forms, including randomly computer-generated constructs. Generously proportioned, the cavity accommodates up to four standard wine bottles, and has a liquid volume of 14 litres. Of necessity, due to its weight and dimensions, the Champagne Bucket is cast in a heavy-duty foundry using large-scale machinery; this process leaves many subtle scars that make each piece unique. • Prise Bronze Bottle Opener’s design embodies a playful ambiguity, merging elements of mid-century sculpture and familiar industrial tools. A highly sculptural reframing of a utilitarian, often unremarkable essential, this is not an object to be tucked away in your kitchen drawer, but one to sit where its bold form can be duly appreciated.   Each piece is manufactured by a small-scale art foundry in Sydney, using the centuries-old technique of lost wax casting; then hot-patinated and sealed in restoration wax to facilitate a rich, dark, tarnish-resistant surface, before being punched with a maker's mark. The lengthy finishing process replicates that used by sculpture greats such as the English artist Henry Moore, renowned for his monumental post-war bronze works.   The nature of casting and finishing processes means slight variations will occur from one piece to another. Production marks may include slight pour ripples or surface pitting. The original finish will oxidise and darken over time to reveal a distinctive patina. If preferred, use a quality micro-crystalline wax polish.   Crafted, finished and polished in Sydney, Australia.Prise Bronze Bottle Opener’s design embodies a playful ambiguity, merging elements of mid-century sculpture and familiar industrial tools.
